Before embarking on the project of compiling a list of NCAA Division I men’s basketball teams, I had some deep thoughts:
- Am I wasting my time?
- Will this confuse people even more regarding the purpose of this website?
Once I was confident the answer to both questions was yes, I knew I had to proceed.
As a quick reminder, NCAA Division I men’s basketball teams are those that play at the highest level of college basketball, as in the one that feeds March Madness, the tournament the whole country gambles on.
While numbers are subject to change at any moment, there are 364 teams split up among 31 different conferences. Also subject to change is which conference a team plays in, as universities will jump around depending on where the greatest revenue can be achieved (as determined by media rights and other such things).
Anyway, here’s the list as of March 5, 2025.
