Well, kind of. I’m still a doctor. But now I write, too.
Thankfully, I don’t bore you with dissertations. The point is to use blog posts, top 10 lists, unorthodox poems, and really short books to look at the US—and the world according to the US—in unconventional and amusing ways.

After training in internal medicine at Cornell and nephrology at Yale, I practiced medicine full time in Rochester, New York, for 11 years. Then I discovered Wi-Fi—now I work part time and call myself a writer.
As the picture indicates, you won’t learn much here about the latest fashion trends. But you will learn that blending music with sports, history with science, money with geography, and so on is a great way to process the country.
That’s what happens when you’re born in 1977. And you’ll also note I have a soft spot for the undervalued cities that make our country tick. While every piece is designed to be read in isolation, if you stick it out, you might start to see the US with refreshing clarity. Or you might just laugh.
